I am excited to apply for the Director, Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) position. I will bring to the role 20 years of teaching experience and 16+ years of overlapping experience as a curriculum and programming director, instructional designer for the Saluki Success Program and the Communication Studies core curriculum, business communication educator, and certified talent development professional.
If provided the opportunity, I look forward to working collaboratively with the CTE staff and other stakeholders to maintain the CTE’s remarkable reputation across the campus. Together, we would build upon the Center’s quality services and develop and implement a strategic plan and programmatic narratives to ensure the CTE is recognized as strengthening each pillar of “Imagine 2030.”
The CTE will be the gold-standard center for teaching excellence among our peer institutions. It works inclusively with SIU’s diverse and talented faculty, students, and staff to promote a pedagogy of care inside and outside of the classroom and in all learning modalities. It provides exceptional instructional support to all faculty and graduate teaching assistants. The CTE is a key building block to the foundation of each pillar of the SIU strategic plan.
Below are the materials that I submitted to the hiring committee. I am providing them for all colleagues to review. These documents highlight my certifications, capabilities, Imagine 2030 ideas, approach to transformational and inclusive leadership, and approach to DEI.
I have provided bulleted ideas in most sections. I don’t want to go on at length. I am happy to explain or discuss these by email, phone, or even at Starbucks in the Student Center ☕.
